Paving Pathways Junior Counseling
ProgramJunior year is an exciting time for students at Jones! All of you will begin the journey with your counselor to research/plan for what you will do after high school. We want you to know that your counselor is here to help you navigate through this search process and can be a great resource for you in making the right post-secondary decision. Our counseling program for juniors is called the Paving Pathways Junior Counseling Program. Below is an outline of what you can expect this year:

Four Paving Pathways Counseling Program lessons focusing on a few different topics
November- Introduction to Paving Pathways
February-Understanding Yourself and Choosing a Post-secondary Plan
March- Naviance as a Research Tool and Financial Aid/Scholarships 101
May-A Further Exploration Into Post-Secondary Planning
Paving Pathways Counseling Program Family Event
November 10th (Time: TBD)-Junior students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend this evening event to get an overview of the junior program as well as hear from admissions representatives on how to navigate the college process. We will also discuss post-secondary options aside from college.
Course Scheduling
February Juniors will select their classes for the 2021-2022 school year via Google Form.
Junior Counselor Conference 
May Students will meet one-on-one with their counselor to talk about their post-secondary plans and summer plans.
Making College Affordable Family Event
March 18th (Time: TBD)-Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will present to junior students and parents on how to make college more affordable for students.
College Fair
April- (Tentative) Juniors have the option to attend the Jones college fair.
Standardized Testing
