Volunteer

Volunteers are at the heart of making any program, event, or imitative a success! Contribute your time and talents to enriching the experience of students, parents, and the Jones community. There are dozens of opportunities that fit multiple interests and involvement.  Whether you are interested in judging a science fair, painting a classroom, coaching a team, or even tutoring and mentoring, we can find the right activity or project for you. Below find the links and forms for a variety of volunteers options.

Local School Council (LSC)
The LSC Student Rep. is elected each year by peers and represents the student body. Students are encouraged to take an active part in decisions impacting their school.

Parents
We are very thankful for all of the individuals who volunteer their time to make Jones College Prep that much better. Below are a few ways parents can be active:

Friends of Jones (FOJ)
Jones parents are amazing, and the proof is FOJ. Whether raising funds for a special classroom resource, chaperoning a dance, or hosting events-- they are the backbone of the school and help drive a positive school environment.

Local School Council (LSC)
Local School Council Relations oversees and facilitates the operation of site-based management teams in each school, expanding all facets of communications with the schools, parents and the greater community.

The Volunteer Process
  1. Volunteer submits an online application to Volunteer Programs and photo ID
  2. Volunteer Programs confirms, per Volunteer Policy , if they are a Level 1 or Level 2 volunteer.
  3. Level 1 Volunteers will proceed to the next steps:
    • Volunteers will receive the NEW pre-populated Fingerprint Form from Volunteer Programs to take to any Accurate Biometrics location http://www.accuratebiometrics.com/.
    • They will also receive the TB form, if applicable (5 hours or more per week).
  4. Volunteers will be instructed to submit their Accurate Biometrics receipt to [email protected]. This will allow Volunteer Programs to track their results.
  5. Once all documentation has been submitted, if approved, Level 1 Volunteers will receive an approval letter stating they are cleared to start volunteering.
  6. Level 2 Volunteers are processed as soon as possible and will receive a letter from Volunteer Programs stating they are approved to start volunteering.
*CPS completes a background check and will accept or decline a volunteer.
