National English Honors Society

Attention students! The Jones chapter of National English Honors Society has opened the application for SY21-22.

The purpose of this organization is to recognize on a national level those who, on the basis of academic grades and performance, merit special note for past and current accomplishments in the study of English.  NEHS also encourages development of literature, fine writing, language and media studies, and it encourages members to use their talents in the service of others. For more information, please visit www.nehs.us. To be eligible students must have completed English 1 and English 2 and be currently enrolled in a junior-level English course. Students may lose their membership if they do not maintain their active participation and commitment to the organization.  There will be four meetings per year, with members expected to attend a minimum of three meetings per year as well as a writing tutoring training for any new members. NEHS members will also be required to complete yearly service hours in the AcLab NEHS Writing Center.

If you meet the above qualifications and wish to apply for membership in the National English Honor Society, complete the form by Thursday, September 30th. Please see Ms. Miller ([email protected]) or Ms. Dernbach ([email protected]) with any questions.
