A native of Buffalo, New York, Fran Feeley has worked for the Chicago Public Schools since 1994, first as a school psychologist and later as a school librarian (from 2006). Before coming to Jones in the fall of 2015 he was the school librarian for nine years at Inter-American Magnet School, Chicago’s longest standing Spanish/English dual language program.
In addition to promoting reading, Fran is passionate about teaching students to navigate the vast information landscape and to participate in the global information community – as users and creators – judiciously, productively, and responsibly. He enjoys collaborating with teacher colleagues to support projects that challenge students to integrate curriculum content with technology tools in robust ways, to access and analyze information, and to create and share unique and compelling information products.
