The study utilizes various data, including Advanced Placement (AP) participation and performance. Jones ranked #3 in Illinois (behind only Northside and Walter Payton) and #103 nationally. Jones Ranks Among the Best!
Jones ranks #4 in Illinois! The Tribune and Sun Times both ran articles on Monday, October 31, showing where Jones stands among public high schools in the state. In 2011, 92.8% of Jones juniors met or exceeded state standards on the PSAE, an increase of 6.3% over the previous year. NATO Summit Information Meeting, Wednesday, May 9, 6:30 PM
Because of our unique location relative to the NATO Summit, May 20-21, we will be hosting a special presentation by CPS Safety and Security and the Chicago Police Department on Wednesday, May 9, 6:30 PM, in the Robin Bennett Theater. Parents and staff from Jones and South Loop School are invited to attend to learn about plans for the NATO weekend and various contingencies involving our respective schools.
Inspiración Scholarship Award
The Inspiración Scholarship, our innovative scholarship award program, was created by ALAS to provide economic support to Latino students who wish to pursue their academic goals in a higher learning environment despite their socio-economic and/or documentation status.
Scholarship recipients will be awarded with a brand-new laptop computer at the annual A.L.A.S. Fest on Friday, May 11, 2012.
