Overview

Although Jones has changed from a two-year commercial vocational school to a four-year college prep, it is still the high school from which more than 22,000 students have graduated since February 1938. The evolution of Jones' basic mission and curriculum represents changes in current educational trends as well as major demographic changes in Chicago's South Loop community. The 'new' premier Jones College Prep fits nicely into Chicago's growing educational and cultural corridor.

In June 2000, an Alumni Association for Jones Commercial was formed. Several attempts had been made in the past to form an alumni organization but were short-lived. As a result, an organizational structure or mechanism has not existed for maintaining contact with graduates of Jones, a challenge when classes attempt to hold reunions. Jones, however, continues to seek the location of its many graduates. Of the more than 22,000 who have graduated, we have 6,585 registered in our online alumni directory, of which about 1,000 represent current names and addresses.

If you are a graduate of Jones, past, and present, please enter your class year and personal contact information into our online alumni directory (relaunched later in 2018) available on this Web site. We have also provided an opportunity for you to share a special memory of your time at Jones through our online Memoir section which will help us build a 'Class Notes' section in future alumni publications.

Have you lost your yearbook?
Although we no longer sell old yearbooks, we may be able to help you reference one from our archives. In the coming year, we'll be adding more books to the Yearbook Archive, which will be accessible online. If you would like to locate an old yearbook, please contact the school at (773) 534-8600 and ask for the Main Office.

Friends of Jones is expanding our alumni efforts by creating a Jones Alumni Network Committee. We are seeking individuals who would be interested in serving as alumni representatives and that are enthusiastic about being a part of this exciting initiative as we take the alumni network to the next level. Whether you’re a recent grad or a well-seasoned alumni, we encourage you to apply. By joining the committee, you will help shape the future of the Jones Alumni Network.

The application for the Alumni Committee is now closed. Please contact Troy Hilbrands at [email protected] to get involved with the alumni network.
