LSC Election
The 2024 local school council elections will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2024 (for high schools) from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM Parent, community, and educational staff LSC representatives are elected for a two-year term. Student representatives serve a one-year term.
 
About Candidates
Candidates had the opportunity to read their statements on why they should be LSC representatives.
Before you go to the polls, be sure to learn what forms of ID to bring, how to complete a ballot, and where you are eligible to vote.
 
  • Thursday, April 11, 2024
  • Location: Main Lobby
  • Polls open from 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM
  • Per CPS policy – all voting must be done in-person
  • All parents/legal guardians of students are eligible to vote
  • Community members residing within JCP attendance boundaries are eligible to vote
  • All voters must provide two (2) forms of valid identification
    • One (1) form of ID for parent/guardians must prove enrollment for the student
 
Student Elections
  • Wednesday, April 10

  • Lunch Periods
  • All CPS parents, legal guardians, and temporary custodians of students
  • All CPS students at their school of attendance
  • All CPS paid staff within the school building they work in for more than 50% of their time
  • All community members who are Chicago residents and reflect a residential address within the school’s attendance area or voting district at least 17 years old. Use our LSC election map to find where you are eligible to vote.
  • US citizenship is not a requirement to vote
  • High Schools vote on Thursday, April 11th from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
  • Make sure you only mark your choices with an "X". Any other mark will not be counted as a vote and will result in your entire ballot being thrown out
  • A parent or community member may vote for up to 5 representatives (any combination of parent and community candidates)
  • Do not make more than five X's. Voting for more than 5 may result in your entire ballot being thrown out.

All voters must present at least two (2) current (unexpired) forms of identification which are determined to be reliable by the election judges.
For Chicago residents, one must show your current residential address within the school's voting district.
For CPS Parents, one must establish you as a parent, legal guardian, or temporary custodian of a student at the school.

Vote for up to but no more than any two teachers and non-teacher staff candidates (combined), or vote for fewer than 2 candidates.
