Priya was one of 11 student-athletes in the Chicagoland area recognized for her volunteer service. She currently serves a junior board member and volunteers for Urban Initiatives. Urban Initiatives provides soccer clinics, league play and mentoring for low income CPS schools. PepsiCo Showdown will make a $100 donation in Priya's name to Urban Initiatives and also provided her with concert tickets.

Congratulations Priya!

Season Wrap Up
The Varsity team finished the year at 13-8-3. We came in 4th place for the city of Chicago and also came in 4th place in the CPS premier league (the top league in CPS). We reached the semi-finals for both the City Tournament and also the Pepsi Showdown (the nations largest tournament). We also tied Saint Ignatius (one the top teams in the state) This year's team exceeded expectations even though we were very young (only 4 seniors).

We received many individual awards this year. With all 4 Seniors qualifying as All-Academic CPS (Rachel Sohn, Priya Charles, Gabriela Baxtrom, and Gillian Miller). We also had All-City players in Devin Barry, Avery Kaplan, and Gabriela Baxtrom. Others receiving recognition for all-conference were Rachel Sohn, Martina Bianchi, and Natalie Loos.

Although we will be losing several key Seniors, the future looks bright. We will have 9 starters returning next year, as well as some top returning players from both Varsity and JV we think will contribute immediately. Both the JV and Fresh/soph teams were top teams in CPS as well, making up a core of future stars. The goal for 2019 is to win the City Championship and we believe we will have the nucleus to do so.
