Enter your text here...Dr. Therese Plunkett has been working with the the Jones College Prep community as an Assistant Principal for the past 7 years. She feels very honored to be given the opportunity to work with such a talented and diverse faculty and student-body.

Dr. Plunkett began her teaching career as a Physics and Chemistry teacher at Good Counsel High School. She has also taught gifted students at Hubert Humphrey Middle School, Bolingbrook, IL and Applied Mathematics at Robert Morris College, Chicago, IL. Most recently Dr. Plunkett was a Math teacher at Sullivan High School located in the Rogers Park community of Chicago. While at Sullivan she taught all levels of Mathematics from Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus. She also served as the Department Chair of the Mathematics Department, Sullivan’s Athletic Director, and the coach for both the boys and girls soccer teams and sponsored several student organizations including the National Honor Society. Dr.. Plunkett also served as one of two teacher representatives on the Sullivan Local School Council for 8 years.

Dr. Therese Plunkett-O’Brien obtained a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University. She later obtained a M.A. in Secondary Math Education and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Administration from DePaul University. She recently graduated form Loyola University with a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.

When not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and two little girls, Gabrielle and Madeline. In her spare time she likes to practice Bikram yoga and loves traveling and reading.
