Emily Cambry is the School Social Worker at Jones College Prep. She brings to the educational process an understanding of the social emotional development of students and the influences of family, community, and culture on the educational process, as students interact, learn, and achieve in the educational setting.
Mrs. Cambry joined the Jones College Prep faculty in 2003. She has been a clinician with the Chicago Public Schools at the elementary and high school levels.
A native Chicagoan, Mrs.Cambry completed elementary and high school in the Chicago Public School system. . As a School Social Worker, Mrs. Cambry enjoys collaborating and consulting with faculty and parents with facilitating the pro-social development of students. Mrs. Cambry collaborates with outside agencies to provide informative and engaging programs for students at Jones. Mrs. Cambry firmly believes providing students with authentic educational information and experiences that support engagement, connectedness, social emotional, and academic learning and achievement, facilitates the development of individuals to develop competencies in many important areas. Mrs. Cambry is an active member of professional organizations that provide scholarships to high school graduates. Mrs. Cambry is a Field Instructor for Graduate Social Work Interns, and mentors new Social Workers in the Chicago Public Schools.
Mrs. Cambry supports organizations with a commitment to community service, social justice, and activities that encourage and support diversity.
Mrs. Cambry enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending music concerts, going to the theatre, dancing, and traveling.
